Here's another one of my rare posts...
Did I let you know here that I was applying to be a Justice of the Peace? Well, I made it!!! I'm now officially toffy-nosed with a slightly up-tilted head and squinty down-pointing eyes!!!
Not really... it just means I can witness documents, certify copies of documents, authorise search warrants, arrest warrants, and occasionally sit on a bench with another JP and grant simple bail. It's a community service, though, and I can't charge $ for my services, but it makes me feel important, and that's good enough.

I got a boat license, too. Now I can be a menace on the land AND on the water. Cool!

Question: Is Crossing Jordan out on DVD yet? I can't find it anywhere. :-(

I'm going to lose weight this year. I will. Really.
I bought a skipping rope.......

A much better day, although it started out looking like another dud.
Went to Christmas dinner at my step-daughter's place, since we'll all be away over the 'real' Christmas. I'm really not looking forward to this years holiday. I told hubby I didn't want to go, and he got shitty with me. I had to explain, that I'm sick of being the 3rd person in this relationship. He spends all his days working with John. He spends his evenings sitting chatting watching TV with John. He gets cranky when I want a little attention. He should have married John.
Also, their idea of a holiday is waking up, drinking beer, going fishing, drinking more beer, going to bed, wake up, do it again.
I have watched them for four years, every day, drinking. I am NOT looking forward to watching them do it twice, three times as much, on MY holiday. I don't want 'his other wife' on MY holiday.
So now, his son is coming along as well!! So we'll be sitting on the beach at Fraser Island. I will be pissed off because of the above... I won't enjoy it.
So, his fix is to declare that we will take the smaller tent, and leave John and Colin to it for a night or two, and wander off on our own to have some 'married time' together while we are away. Why can't I just stay home, and let 'the boys' go? No, he'll miss me. We've clapped eyes on each other every day for 4 years without fail, and he'll miss me. I really want the break, from him, from the piss, from JOHN...
After this holiday we are meant to be actively seeking our own accommodation... away from John. By the Gods I certainly hope it happens.
The other hassle is 'the ex-friend' who "bad vibed" us a while ago - and did actually admit it. Well, she's done it again, and all because I was concerned for her daughter and the idiot she is dating - having had this idiot stay with me previously and know what he's like - and Char (ex-friend) has rattled off a tirade about how my son is the cause of who her daughter is dating and what a complete fucking arsehole he is for it. Doesn't stop to think that Melissa and Joel may have had some say in the fact that they are seeing each other and were too gutless to tell her - knowing that she'd fly into a rage - and they are quite happy to let David take the crap for it. Great friends.
So... so many bad things have happened since then. We have had such a bad time - things going wrong, being sick, both of us cutting ourselves badly, car playing up, air conditioner shorted out, fell on a knife, one child almost choked, another almost burnt - Heaven knows what next!!! She preaches about how wonderful a pagan she is and how much of a wonderful white witch she is, but then hexes people who piss her off. She's really as black as the ace of spades. I have more power and knowledge than she does, and I know next to nothing... not having the resources available.
So we had a nice dinner anyway, both last night, and tonight. Both nights were away from home, from John, and were with more enjoyable company. Matt hardly drank. It was a wonderful time. Then we came home to John. I guess he doesn't realise he is causing so much strife between us, but I can't help but resent him and get really pissed off. I am just hanging onto the hope that we'll find a nice place to move to after Christmas. I need to cry big time.

Wow. Did I write all that? I must have needed this badly. I'm not even going to edit it.
Can't get any worse, can it?

The Cricket Ashes Urn is on display there from today for about 2 weeks. It was a bit of an anti-climax... The Urn is only about 7.5cm tall. It is SO tiny...

Rang my brother, Allyn, for his birthday today. He's in Sydney.

We came home to get the picnic stuff and Gypsy. We drove to Wivenhoe Dam for a picnic, near Esk, and then drove around to Somerset Dam as well. A long drive, but enjoyable - for Matt and me at least - the kids wanted to stop in every park we passed, and if we didn't stop, they complained and wanted to go home.

Finally got home about 4:30pm. I had a headache from the sun, so I retreated to my room with air conditioning blasting away, and lay down. Not for long - Norel called, so there went an hour. Then Nicky called, so there went another hour. Then mum called, and I managed to keep her conversation short - gracious!!

John had made roast beef for dinner, and I ate half of it, since he always piles up the plate. I refused potatoes too. Just ate a bit of beef, peas, carrots and corn.

Matt called his sister, Kate, to discuss their dad's 80th birthday next Sunday. We are going to an Italian Restaurant/Pizzeria for dinner on Saturday night. Missa said she'd look after the boys for us.

Back to TV veging...

Tuesday, 7 November 2006 5:11:16 PM
Day 12

Yummy start to the day :-)
I had to get River out of bed at 7:45am to get ready for school. Had to wake Storm at 8:15am to get ready for preschool. Had so much going through my head... had to collect David from his place. Dropped Rose at day care, then brought David home to get a shirt from Matt's drawer. Took him to Carl Law's place, where Matt and John were laying a concrete slab. Matt wanted David to help.

I went shopping. Spent money I probably shouldn't have. Matt and John, and David came home for lunch. I took David home while Matt and John went back to work. Got the kids.

When Matt got home he said while they were on lunch, the cat walked on the concrete... LOL - he wasn't happy.

I chatted to the kids in Kingscliff on the phone for a while, then spoke to Trevor for a bit. He's having trouble - again - with his neighbour. I made shepherd's pie for dinner. I didn't use tomato paste - as John always does - and they liked it. I make mine differently, and might I say, it has a more savoury flavour than John's. So there!

Read the kids their book at bedtime. I was looking for books to buy for bedtime today - but I decided to finish going through my old Enid Blyton's first. At the moment we are half way through The Magic Faraway Tree. Oh, to be that young again...........................

And my complete collection of Kimba the White Lion came today!!!!!! YAY!!!
Am I sad or what??
On my most immediate collecting list is - Prince Planet, Gigantor, Marine Boy, Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased), The Tomorrow People, Catweazle, Earth 2, and Firefly - for now!!!

Day 29

Don't you just hate it when your cycle doesn't stick to the plan? All day I've had that annoying sore twinge/throb in my uterus area, the one that lets you know that a period is on the way, but not quite happening yet. If it would just happen on time, when it's supposed to, and have it over and done with, I'd be much happier. That's the beginning of the "bitchy time of the month" fairy tale. It's got more to do with the fact that it should behave itself, happen, be gone, and leave us alone for another month! You get grumpy waiting for it, and it knows!! So it misbehaves to piss you off further! And don't give me any of that "wonderful womanish monthly moon menstrual happening" thing. If you suffered as much as I do with terribly heavy periods, that flood tampons (hereinafter referred to as 'plugs') in the space of an hour and leak onto sanitary napkins (hereinafter referred to as pads') during this said hour - constantly and every hour for two days - and then for the third day be running to change a plug every two or three hours, as well as downing handfuls of painkillers for the brutal tearing wrenching pains that grip your uterus while it is contracting to shed the womanly evidence of fertility, you would be as grumpy as me, who sits in wait for it to happen on the 29th day (becoming Day 1) so it can GO AWAY!!! The last one or two days aren't so bad - just slightly irritating.

So. Obviously, I'm still grumpy, and it's still lying in wait to catch me off guard, and make a massive mess on my bed sheets when I am most unprepared, because it will start overnight, and I will be deep in sleep, and it will flood my protection, and I'll wake angry and messy and fuming!!! So then tomorrow morning I'll have to wait for John to finish in the toilet and the shower before I can go in and have a well earned clean up, which will piss me off further, and life won't be worth living for those around me who get in my way!!

Get - me - a - cup - of - tea - BACK - AWAY - SLOWLY - leave - the - premises - QUICKLY - and - everything - will - be - okay. NOW MOVE!!!!

So, on a more cheerful note, I watched X-men the Last Stand today. Matt bogged, sanded and painted one side of the roof of his car, and the kids and I made choc chip cookies and ate them with lemonade.

I should find more userpics to reflect my moods.....

What a nice way to wake up.....
Matt went to pick up his grinder from his parents place, and to get some metal from the industrial bins, and then to see some people about their pergola. He was back about lunch time. John had come home while he was out. When he got home, I went to the shops, then to Overflow briefly. I won two Avon mystery boxes on ebay - can't wait to see what I get so I can make up Christmas boxes.

I went to the video shop, and got Doom, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (with Johnny Depp), and Xmen 3. Alex had run up a bill on my account because he was too slack to take his movies back. It was $51.25 in overdue fees. I stared at the guy, and said "WHAT?!" rather loudly - people turned to look. He said did I want to make a note that he can't borrow on my account - and I said No, I have access to his bank account. (A lot of snickering behind me.) Needless to say, I paid it, and took it from his account on internet banking when I got home.

Matt cut away rust from his truck, and got to work fixing it with the mig welder. He was at it for ages. Did a pretty good job too. He's only done one side of the roof where the tray is for the roof rack to clamp on. He made a whole new tray the length of the car. He just needs to bog it and paint it. The work on the other side.

John made a roast beef for dinner.

I didn't do much today, for a change.

Nothing unusual about that. John got ready to go out to his sister's - Gail - place. Her son turns 21, and they are having a party for him, and John and Peter are catering. He left by about 9am. Matt went to Andrew's shop to borrow his mig welder, so he can have a go at fixing his truck. It has rust everywhere, and needs to be fixed now, before he gets pulled over for an inspection.

He was back by 1am, and I left to go to my Partylite party at Mt Gravatt. Not too far away this time. Bettina was a lovely woman, and we chatted for a while when the guests had left. Her husband has just started a handyman business - like Matt's. There's definitely a market for it.

I came home by 6pm. Got dinner on almost immediately - sweet and sour chicken stir fry - with rice.

Gypsy is in heat. I'll have to lock her in downstairs when I go out and can't take her with me. This is her first, and I'd rather wait for her second or subsequent heats before letting her have puppies.

Matt watched cricket while I input the candle order on the website.

Not much today, really.
Friday, 20 October 2006 11:03:49 PM
Day 26

Headache. Headache. Headache.
I hate waking with nasty headaches. Especially when the kids come in yelling about each other, and carrying on like a pork chop about breakfast and getting ready for school, etc, etc.

So, I asked them nicely to leave me alone for a while so that the 3 panadeine I took can kick in - and then I bellowed (making my head hurt even more) at them to leave me alone - go ask Matt!!! Why, oh why, do they only ever acknowledge the other parent when the first one says something they don't want to hear? Like "NO".

Matt took them to school. I stayed in bed. Matt went to Indooroopilly with John. I stayed in bed. About midday I started to feel functionable, so I got up and went to have a look at their progress. The kitchen looks good! Barbara (Matt's mum) made us lunch, and then I left to go shopping at Crazy Clarks for cheap crappy stuff. I have an idea of buying decorated boxes, also small knick knacky stuff like stickers, crayons, pencils, colouring books, small toys, lollies, etc, and tossing the lot in these boxes, and giving them to the kiddies for Christmas. Saves me having to come up with some idea of what that particular child would like (thinking of other family - siblings kids, etc). I've been on ebay with a search for "Mystery Box" which would help immensely. I've won a 'teenager' one, then there's one for boys and one for girls, an avon one, a tupperware one, etc, etc. I'll see how I go. Am I lazy or what? Yes, but I feel fine about it.

I went to Loganlea to get Chantelle from Monique's place. Got her home about 2pm, gave her to Alex, then went to Vodafone to see if my bluetooth earpiece is back yet. It wasn't, but she chased it up. It had been delivered to another dealer altogether. Typical! She called me and I picked it up straight away.

I got frozen pizza for the kids for dinner before I picked them up. I spent the afternoon rearranging my candle stuff for a party I have to do tomorrow. The adults had ribs for dinner.

A low-life friend of John's turned up for a bit. He turns up when he's low on money and looking for free piss. Matt doesn't like him much either. He drinks the beer, never offers to bring any, and then buggers off home with a tank full of our grog. Well, Matt and John's grog, anyway. I have other, more exotic indulgences. Ones that last a bit longer than theirs. Does that sound snide and nasty? Yes. Am I really such a bitch? Or am I justified in being pissed off with the amount of $$ spent on smokes and grog every week? He says I'm expensive to keep, but I have three kids at home and a dog. He spends up to $300 a week on himself alone in beer and smokes. It's just like growing up with my dad all over again. Why did I fall in love with a man like that?

Anyway. Bedtime, with a bit of a headache.

Thursday, 19 October 2006 10:11:55 PM
Day 25

The boys have tuckshop today. I took them to school, and Storm to kindy, and came home and re-vamped my PartyLite folders, with blurb about sponsoring added, so that I don't have to mention it much during a show. Kills two birds with one stone, since I signed a contract saying I would promote the business, I can do it with flyers. Besides, PartyLite is my addiction/hobby - not my business.

I went to David's about 1pm, to see if Blade's glasses were there, and to pick up Matt's watch. No go with the glasses. I came home, picked up the boys from school, and took them to get their haircut. Storm won't be happy he missed out on that. I'll have to do it tomorrow, if I remember.

I stopped to get frozen vegies, and carrots, and pull-ups for Blade and Storm. I got home and put the silverside on for dinner, and then Missa rang. She asked if I could pick her and Rose up and take them home, as it was raining at her work (ABC Inala). I couldn't - I am the only one home with the kids, so I can't leave them here, and we won't all fit in the car, so I told her if she didn't come up with anything else, I'll call her when Matt gets home. He came home about 10 minutes later, so I called her, and Blade and I went to pick her up and take them home. Blade looked for his glasses, but still can't find them.

When I got home, Matt was spray painting the bonnet again. Fumes. Hmmm.
We had dinner, put the kids in bed after a bath, and then Matt and I sat and watched "island of the Blue Dolphins". It was a movie I watched as a kid. Funny how it was so wonderful back then, and we picked it pieces tonight.....

I now have a headache for trying to do the 'together' thing. I was leaning my head into Matt's shoulder, which was quite comfortable, and then he put his arm around me, which then made it very UNcomfortable. My head was twisted, my neck was aching, and I finally gave up and moved away. Too late. Headachesville. Think I'll go lie down.

Wednesday, 18 October 2006 9:32:06 PM
Day 24

Before I begin, I have to mention that my bank is Heritage Building Society. I wonder how much like your Heritage Bank it is. It's got no account keeping fees, and they are lovely at my branch. :-)
Also, Peachee is a brewed, carbonated non-alcoholic drink made in Bundaberg by the same people who make our famous Bundaberg Rum. As it is non-alcoholic - hence the added vodka. Mmmm. It's just so yummy. Mind you, my mouth watered for Peach Schnapps after a comment in a previous post. Mmmm - anyway, used to be, the only place to buy it was in Bundy - but I emailed them and begged for a distributor in Brisbane, and they put me onto their distributor here, and now I buy it by the case from them. I don't have many addictions, but that may well be classed as one. Read about it here: http://www.bundaberg-brew.com.au/local/peachee.html

On with my diary entry:
Have Storm home today. Blade had lost his glasses yesterday, so I went to look for them in his classroom before school started. Nope. Nowhere to be seen.

John went back to Indooroopilly to get back to the kitchen. Matt had a couple other jobs to finish - see Carl at Qld Access, sand Marney's wall, something else. I went down with Storm for a cuppa with Norel at her work. She works at EntSec Security (Entertainment Security) in the office, and also does some pub work and gigs. She was doing the pays today, so I gave her a hand while we chatted. Good thing too. She wasn't with it today - LOL - and nearly gave one of the pays to the bank account of another guard. LOL. Anyway, all sorted. I still have to do the Security course. Every time I save the money, another bill or something comes in and I spend the money on that. As soon as I get that damn licence, I can do the Entertainment Centre gigs (armed with an autograph book). Keep wishing good luck this way, so that I can actually get my act into gear and get it done.

I stopped home for a bit. Storm needed to use the toilet. Matt was home - on his way to his mum's to work on the kitchen. When he left, I left to go back to Beryl's to pick up a box of goodies I left there last night. Another trek across country!!! Got back to the local servo to swap our gas bottle before picking up the boys. River went to lost property, and found his hat, but not Blade's glasses. River and Storm got TV, while Blade had to write "I must take care of my glasses" some several times. I may just have to buy another pair ($200). You watch - as soon as I do, the other pair will show up!! If it does, he can keep one pair in his classroom.

Porterhouse steak for dinner. Mmmmm. I really like buying meat in bulk. I always used to, and I convinced Matt it's a good idea too. Buy a side of beef for the going rate - this time it as about $5 a kilo - they average at about 90 kgs - so just under $500. But that way we get everything for the same price. Porterhouse in the shops is over $20 kg - I paid $5 kg. T-bone steak is about $15 kg in the shops, I paid $5 kg. Mince is about $8-9 kg. I paid $5 kg and minced it myself - that way I know how much fat goes in. Silverside is $16 kg in the shops - I paid $5 kg. Etc, etc. So we get good cuts of meat at a good price, and even us paupers eat like kings!!! Need the freezer space though. I also need freezer space for my Chrisco, Castle and Festive Fiesta Christmas Hampers coming here soon.

Nicky sent me a txt. She's a bit stressed. Ian's dad is out of prison (yesterday) and wants to visit. I don't know the full story, but he went in for a few years for allegedly interfering with a young girl. Nicky loves Ian, but Ian says "If dad says he didn't do it, I believe him". Nicky, on the other hand, is saying, "fair enough, but I have a daughter - OUR daughter". I do sympathise. I don't know what to think either. I would like to sit down with Gary, though, and listen to his story. He is my nephew's father after all.

Got a guitar on ebay - a purple one!!! For River for Xmas - not for me - although I will be admiring it greatly!!. Also got walkie talkies for Blade, and a computer spelling laptopy thing for Storm.

Watched Spicks and Specks. Now watching ROAR.

Day 23

Had to get River to school by 8:15am - his class had an excursion to Caboolture Historic Village. Matt dropped him and Blade at school. I took Storm to preschool at 9am. Matt wanted to go get the drawers he was missing for the kitchen at Indooroopilly and wanted to use my car (the Acclaim station wagon). I had to meet him at his parents place at Indooroopilly. When I got there, he said he needed to get sheeting as well anyway, so he'd take the truck (the Toyota Landcruiser). Grr

I left there (after saying hello to my in-laws) and went to Pam's. I was there at 10:15am - she was at her kids school doing some fund raising thing. I picked her up and we went all the way back across town to my local Heritage branch. Alayne was a doll - she over-rode the system to get Pam her Visa debit card. Good thing she knows me. Pam was happy. She has a visa debit with Suncorp, but we don't want her going back to them, now do we?

So, I dropped Pam home, and then sprinted another half an hour north to Strathpine to Manda's place (Amanda - Matt's daughter). She made up lunch, and I left PartyLite boxes for her to take to Katrina. Katrina lives another 15 minutes north - at Kallangur - and I needed to get back in time to get the kids from school. So, after a chat and a nice lunch, I zoomed back off home to Mt Ommaney, in time to get the kids. Manda had received her name badge for next year - and it said "teacher" instead of "relief teacher". LOL. She was over the moon!!

I went to get some chicken Kiev from the butcher because I forgot to take meat out for dinner. I started to cook it, but had to leave half way through for a PartyLite meeting. Geesh! I've done some traveling today. The meeting is at Wellington Point - forty five minutes drive east~ish - right on the bay.

Sat through that with gritted teeth. I think I prefer to push/approach people my own way - not theirs. Got home about 11pm. Tired. Matt kept dinner in the oven for me. Sort of ate half of it, then fell into bed.

Woke early to check on ebay bonnet. Matt won it for $26 - I think - from memory. He was pretty pleased. I got the kids stuff ready, and went to Inala to pick them up from David and Missa's. I told David to go back to bed - he'd hadn't been home long from work, and was to catch a bus to his next job at South Bank at the Convention Centre. I told him to get another hours sleep, and I would come back and drop him in there.

Took the kids to school and preschool. Went home to edit some quotes Matt had typed. He and John left for the job at his parents place - tearing out the kitchen. I went to David's. I took him to South Bank, then went to the shops to get "school food" - for the lunch boxes.

Pam asked me about my Visa debit card - she'd gone into her local Heritage branch at Brookside to get one on her account, but they refused, saying she needed to own her home, and have a job. What a load of old cobblers pegs!!! Crap. Bullshit. I told her I'd wander into my local branch and have a chat with the girls in there - they know me - I go in fairly often for the Business account. Alayne said it was crap too. She went through the questionnaire with me, then I called Pam on her mobile, and they spoke. It has now been decided that I will pick Pam up tomorrow, bring her into my branch, have them sort it out then and there, and then take her home. That's ok I guess, I have to take boxes of PartyLite stuff to Strathpine anyway - it's on her side of town.

Starting to feel bleh. Legs are sore, Head is sore. Sinus acting up still. I'm a moaning groaning pain in the arse.

Picked up the boys and bought them a cupcake for afternoon tea. Alex came home from work with a magazine. He showed me a picture of a welding helmet, with speedglass, that was $617. OMG!!! Six hundred fucking dollars for a welding helmet!!!!!! He said he really really wanted it - I guess in his line of work it's a sound investment - but I just can't come at $600 for a lump of glass and plastic. Matt said he should have it for work, so I gave him his card to take money out for it. It would want to shine bloody shoes and wipe his arse for him for that money!!!

We had home made hamburgers for dinner. I am still feeling bleh, and was cranky with the kids for leaving rubbish all over the lounge room, and went on a tirade of "pick this up", "what's that doing there?". Matt told the kids to go to bed. He told them he was saving their lives. LOL. Then he made me a LARGE glass of vodka and peachee. I sat on ebay watching guitars be bid out from under me. Not a good thing to help lighten my mood.

Matt had played with his car bonnet all afternoon - sanding, spray putty, undercoat, etc. He came up and gave me a wonderful big yummy kiss. After a fizzle last night (car sex was attempted, but fizzled - he was worried about being caught) I was convinced that when romance was handed out, my husband was standing at the back of the queue watching the cricket. Well, he got a couple of brownie points for that one.

I'm going to bury my nose in my Christmas Hamper 2007 catalogue.

Our 1st Anniversary

We had a nice time at Ian and Nicky's last night. The kids didn't get to bed until midnight. Eric and Skye thought it was great to stay up so late because they had friends over. The kids all slept in Eric's room. Matt and I had a bed in the spare room.

We woke at about 7am - the kids had been up considerably earlier!!

We did the coffee eyeball opener, then Nicky made pancakes for breakfast. I'll have them twice today, since we are going to the Pancake Manor for dinner. Nicky and I went to the market to get some fruit and veges, and then Matt and I and the kids went home.

Andrew and Marion came over. Marion had finally put our wedding on DVD for us to see - a year later. Shame my dad didn't get to see it before he died. I think Marion felt bad about that, and that's why she's done it now, so soon after his death.

Matt's parents came over too. They wished us a Happy Anniversary, and went on to discuss the kitchen in their flatette. Matt and John will be ripping the old kitchen out tomorrow.

Missa dropped Rose over for a while, so she could go clothes shopping. When she came back, with her friend, she took River and Blade home with her. I woke Storm and bathed him, then I took him to McDonald's to get their dinner, and dropped him over there as well.

I dropped David at the Monier Hotel, where he is working, and picked up beer for John. When I got home, I woke Matt from his afternoon nap, and we got ready to go out to dinner.

More tomorrow.

Woken abruptly by Matt's phone ringing at 6:30am. He had been waiting for a call from a woman about this morning's job last night, but she called this morning. I was not impressed. She will let him in the building at 7:30am, and then she has to go somewhere else. He has to put in a bi-fold door for her in her office.

He left at 7:15am - since the job is at Toowong, it would only take 10 minutes to get there. I sprung sprightly (not) out of bed. I put some washing on, then packed up the kids, to take Blade and Storm to their dad's place. I don't usually - it's not my responsibility to organise his access visit, but sometimes, when he can't get a car to borrow, sometimes, I'll relent. I was just driving out of the driveway, when Matt called and said he needed me to take him a small part for the door. I found it, then we went to drop it off to him. Storm had to wee on the way, so I had to divert to a small park, so he could stop and take a leak. (Shoulders slump).

Finally got the kids delivered. Went to the shopping centre with River. He needs a new clipboard for school, and needs it by Tuesday for his excursion. Went home. Matt was already home. He said it hadn't taken him as long as he thought.

Matt and John worked on John's car. Something about the carburetor and fuel line. They got black. I helped River with a movie review about Zathura. It's so terribly difficult, being an adult, to help to write things to the level of a Year 4 student. (Don't know your US equivalent, but the kids start school in Grade 1 the year they turn 6 years old. School year runs from end of January to mid December. Usually 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday) River is 9 years old - Grade 4) Getting some sort of momentum is almost impossible. He wants to describe every incident in detail, and I have to cut it short by explaining that he only needs to tell a few details to make it interesting enough to other people who read it, to make them want to see it themselves. I took headache tablets. Not only for the headache, mind, but also for the sinus problem still lingering.

We typed River's review, and then he pasted it in his book for Monday. I had to lie down. It was about 1pm, I think. I fell asleep. Matt woke me at 3:30pm, and then he lay down for a nap. I went to pick up the other boys at 4:30pm. Peter said they had walked to McDonald's for lunch, and played in their playground.

Got home about 5pm. Matt came out about 5:15pm. I was to wake him at 5:45pm, so I'm sort of glad I didn't have to put up with his attitude when he woke up. He doesn't wake well from an afternoon nap.

John is making spaghetti bolognese for dinner. It will be an earlyish one, because Matt and I are packing up the kids, along with air beds, to go and have a few drinks at Ian and Nicky's. We will be staying the night there. Will be good to get out and socialize for a bit.

I managed to get out of bed at a reasonable time today. Shock! Lunches were made early. Kids were at school way before the bell. Wonder what's wrong with me?

I went to the markets to get potatoes and onions. We buy them in bulk from the markets - cheaper that way. Potatoes in 50kg bags, and onions in - I think - 20kg bags. From there I went to Campbell's Cash and Carry and bought bulk instant gravy, bulk vegemite, bulk laundry powder and bulk toilet paper. We go through dunny paper like you wouldn't believe!! Keep trying to teach the kids you don't need much, but they don't listen.

When I got back, Matt and John left with a screen door for Michael. Matt had one here he adjusted for him. They went to put it in for him. Since he would be over that way, I asked him to pop in to mum's and fix a few things she has on a list for him. I tried to call her, but no answer. Her mobile phone was off - as usual. Pam said she'd mentioned something about a morning tea, so I phoned the pub across the road from her, and she was there. They know her as "Lyall's wife", since dad always went there for a drink, they knew him well. I asked for "Lyall's wife" and they got her straight away - LOL.

I told her Matt would be over to fix a few things, so she said she'd be home in an hour. I called him to tell him. I sat and watched the rest of Roswell. I'm so pinged off that the series ended. Oh well - I'm only one voice. Got the kids at 3pm

Storm lost a tooth today. He said he bit it. He was most upset, until I told him the tooth fairy would leave him money.

I made them fish fingers for dinner, then left to go to Nicky's. Nicky, Tiss and I went to an UnderCoverWear party. I need a few bras, so I spent!!

I had my share of ribs when I got home about 10:30pm.

I've decided that writing in my journal/diary program, and then cutting and pasting here is the only way I'll bother updating in LJ. So, this will always be a recount of my day, whenever I remember to do it. Hope yo don't mind the boring crap. Here's me exposed:

Geez I hate getting out of bed. Whoever invented rest was a genius - and he who invented a day's work was a bastard. So, I struggled out of bed, my dog bouncing about me trying to nip my hands in play.

My head feels better, but this cough lingers on. I manage to make lunches without too much hassle this morning. Actually it was easy - they are having tuck shop today.

Matt said he was going to the dump, and then to have a look at some car parts a bloke has to sell near there. I took the kids to school, leaving the garage door open, and the house unlocked, assuming John was still here. When I got back, I looked about, but no-one was about. I called Matt, and John answered the phone. I was so ticked off. No, I was pretty livid. This is a constant occurrence. I had a go at him, a rather large and loud go - he is always - ALWAYS - telling us to let him know what we are doing so he knows what's going on, and gets extremely pissed off with us if we forget - even if it slips our minds because of other things, but he never - NEVER - returns the consideration. I got him to put Matt on the phone and I tore chunks off him too. If he had just said "and John is coming too", OR, if JOHN had said "I'm going with Matt" then there wouldn't have been a problem. I think he now understands that to get some consideration, he must also show some. They slunk in sheepishly when they got back. For goodness sake! I had left the house unlocked, and my dog had only to wander through the garage to the front when she discovered she was alone, and she would have been gone. She doesn't enjoy being alone, and will find people. She is content to follow rules and stay out of the garage as long as someone is there. I have spent in excess of $500 on her health and well-being. She is worth over $1000 just as a pet to purchase. Grrrrr. Not to mention my computer and other sentimental stuff left alone in an unlocked house.

Matt took me with him to Michael's work, and then to his place to look at the screen door he's trying to put in. I think he doesn't want me ranting at John anymore. Tough. If he deserves a rant, he'll get one. The man is 49 years old. Rules still apply.

Anyway. The door they are trying to put the screen on isn't standard size. It's three different measurements, top, middle and bottom. Matt will have to pull the architraves off and pack them out to a uniform size. On the way back to Michaels' we went to Anaconda, to look at the camping goods. Matt had a climb up the 10 metre wall thing they have. He said it wasn't easy. I snapped a few pics with my phone. We went back to Michael then, to let him know what Matt will do with the door. Matt got caught helping him with an outboard motor. There you go, stop in at the auto-electrician and as soon as Matt sees a boat motor he's there for the duration. Half an hour later, I removed him almost forcibly, with reminders of the rest of the day's events. We went to his mum and dad's armed with a kitchen plan book for the flat under their house. They are trying to get the kitchen repaired/fixed/replaced before letting someone move in. They are hoping Colin (Matt's son), will rent it. So we played with tape measures, and kitchen plans for a while, before leaving to go home. I had a wax appointment at 2pm. Matt dropped me home, then went back to do some sanding and plastering again at yesterday's job.

I went to my appointment. I only ever book in for a half leg wax and a Brazilian, but she always also waxes my eyebrows and armpits. Lovely lady. I was out at 3pm, time to get the boys from school, so I phoned Matt. He was finished and back home, so he got the boys, and I picked up Storm from kindy.

We had bacon, sausages, hash browns, egg and onions for dinner - a lovely artery hardening exercise. Doesn't help my weight loss, but gee those mushrooms are nice. While I was washing up, Matt said River was downstairs with Alex and his guitar again. He said River has been showing an interest in the guitar. e tried Auskick (footy), but wasn't good. A shame because Logan is brilliant at it. Jasmine is brilliant with piano. Matt had always said he wouldn't let him do soccer or anything because he wasn't good at sports, and I had upped him about not letting him try to do things. He won't know what he likes and what he's good at if he doesn't give them a go. So he said how about a guitar for Christmas. I bought Alex the guitar for about $40 off ebay. It was just to learn on, so a cheapie is fine. So I'm on ebay checking out cheap guitars. And walkie talkies for Blade for Christmas.

Wow, a bit of an epic tonight. Might go do some Roswell for a change...

I was in the mood when I woke. However, my darling husband maintains that the only reason I wouldn't be in the mood would be if I were dead. He dashed my hopes terribly. Bastard. Grr. He said he needed the 3 C's - cigarette, coffee and a crap! Fine! I made the kids lunches. He took them to school and preschool. I scrubbed the toilet and the shower.

He had to go to see Qld Access about another job - this time for Carl's wife - who wants a pergola built at their home. He was only gone for about half an hour. When he got back, he ravaged me in the bedroom. Hmmm. Satisfying. He asked me if I'd like to go along on his next job, and I agreed. He let me get my walking legs back - they tend to jellify... LOL.

Matt had to fix a bodgy plaster job at a house. He's been there before a few months ago. He put up a trampoline, built a fence, and a few odd jobs. Today he plastered over the cracks in a wall, bogged up some holes in the wall outside where an air conditioner had been (she'd had it removed and repositioned). He also had to lay a slab of concrete at the back where she wants to put her BBQ. There were three dogs there - a Shih-tzu, a maltese cross with shih-tzu, and another small fluffy dog of some description. I sat on the ground, watching Matt work, while these dogs fought for lap space. At least it kept them off the freshly laid concrete.

We came home about 1:30pm with Hungry Jacks burgers for lunch. I need to exercise. I have to get rid of this round tummy. Yuk. Burgers don't help. Trouble is, I have no-one here that will keep me committed, no friend to work out with. I just don't have the staying power with a negative balance in the "you can do it" stakes. As the Lemonheads say "I get so down about it".

Ok - self pity mode switched off. Matt had a sleep while I went to get the kids from the relevant educational institutions. I took them with me to Ian and Nicky's to drop off a Partylite order. The kids played with Eric and Skye. We had a cuppa or two, then I had to get the kids home for dinner. The guys were cooking T-bones for us, and sausages for the kids. I got home about 5:30pm - Matt said he's only been awake about 15 minutes - which means a 3 hour sleep, so he probably won't sleep tonight. I hate it when he sleeps too long for a nap. He'll be tossing and turning in bed tonight.

I watched Spicks and Specks on my own tonight. We usually watch it together, but the cricket was on... I'm a cricket widow. He's a cricket tragic. He's trying to get a nail gun on ebay tonight. He'll be there until midnight. That's ok, I'm still in the Roswell marathon. I still have two and a half DVD's to go. Then I'll watch ROAR, while I continue my quest for seasons of The 4400 at a reasonable price. The postie is becoming a firm friend. I've gone on a DVD spree on ebay recently.

Gypsy was very put out that I'd been unfaithful with other dogs!!! She was so happy to see me, until she caught a whiff of my jeans. She grudgingly sat in my lap tonight, until I changed into my robe - which doesn't smell of other dogs - and then she was more content. How can a dog make you feel so damn guilty?????

My wonderful husband did the morning ritual of bringing me my dog and a cup of tea. He said he would make the kids lunches too, but he was agonising over some quotes he had to do, so I got up to do that instead. He did take them to school and preschool for me though.

He went out with John when he got back, to Trade Tools to look at mig welders. He needs one to finish fixing his truck. They are very expensive though. I planted myself firmly on the couch, with a pillow, a cuppa, Gypsy, the remote, and my Roswell DVD's. Firmly embedded in the lounge, I watched episodes of Roswell until I fell asleep, somewhere about lunchtime. When Matt and John got back, he woke me with lunch, and I continued my marathon of Roswell, from where I left off. Matt had to go look at a few other jobs, but he was back in time to get the kids from preschool and school. He brought them home with some afternoon tea for them.

My wonderful husband also bought me a bunch of lovely carnations. He said he thought I might like to have them. He loves me. What can I say? He makes me feel so special. Sometimes. LOL.

He had to go look at a couple more jobs. He came home by 5pm, and started to cook dinner - he made Beef Stroganoff. Alex had gone to his dental appointment, a check over for his operation on his wisdom teeth last week, and I think he was having the stitches in his gums taken out. He said he wouldn't be home for dinner - he wanted to go see a friend and have a bit of a spending spree. He had $300 to play with. I have control of his other bank card - because he wants to keep the savings to move out with, and buy things like a fridge, washing machine, toaster, etc.

I helped the kids with their homework. Head still is a bit on the yukky side, but a lot of rest has helped.

I still haven't received in the mail any mention of my Worship-ness. It's been 7 weeks since I lodged the application to be a Justice of the Peace. I had a Police check and a Traffic History done. None of my referees have mentioned the Justice Department speaking them to confirm their statements. I'm feeling quite a bit down about it, actually. Possibly seeping over from how wonderfully sickly I feel, but I also feel deeply saddened that my dad didn't live to hear me say "I'm a Justice of the Peace.". If I don't get anything in the mail by next Tuesday - the 8th week - then I guess I'll abandon all hope, and fall to imagining I didn't pass their standards.

Sickly this morning. Stuffy head, yukky me.
Got the kids off to school and preschool.
Matt had gone to the car yard to pick up the car Alex was looking at buying for $3300. The Nissan Pintara.
He had it back here by 9am, just as I got back form the school run. I took the car to Andrew at work. It felt like a bag of shit. Not a nice car to drive. It coughed, and pulled badly to the left. Matt had gone to work at Gary's investment house at Springfield. The doors weren't closing properly, and tiles were coming off, or something.

Andrew looked the car over. He said the right front (driver's) tyre was cracking around the edges. Also, there are two different tyres on the front - illegal - must be the same treads. The CV joints were buggered. Leaking from the oil, and the brake cylinders. The speedo worked, but the odometer didn't - illegal. It said the same km traveled when Matt picked it up, as when I took it back there. Some other things, too, and that was without even putting it up on the hoist. Also, the car dealer had put his trade plate on it, and the car is registered already. Andrew said that is illegal too - the current registration overrides the trade plate, but having it on there, if the police pulled me over, they could book me for driving an unregistered vehicle via loophole. Bunch of stupid bastard car salesmen. Arseholes.

I drove it back to the car yard, and told him if I had got a ticket, he would have been paying it. I told him my hubby would turn up this afternoon to discuss the car with him. He tried to get me to chat about it, but I refused, and said "talk to the hubby".

I went home to lie down. More sinus tablets. Matt was home just after lunch. We had a lie down and a cuddle together. That was nice. He picked up Storm from preschool for me, then David called. They were at the shopping centre, so he picked them up. Then he picked up River and Blade from school. He dropped them home, the picked up Alex from work, took David and Missa and Rose home, and he and Alex went to the car yard to extract Alex's deposit. They got it. Apparently, they weren't too happy with their own mechanic when they read the report Andrew had written.

Alex was a bit disappointed, but Matt said he could drive the commodore around for a while, now that David can't. So he's happy with that. It would be just sitting there not being driven. If David hadn't got his license suspended, we would still be looking for a car for Alex, but there's no hurry now, and I don't think we should be in a hurry to look anyway. I'd rather we take our time, and get something without rush, and a bit more decent for the money he has to spend.

John made enchilada's for dinner. Yummy, but I couldn't eat a lot, with all this snot running down the back of my throat, I feel like I've already eaten and am full. AAARRGGGGG!!!!! YUK.

Yay! Roswell Season 3 that I's ordered arrived today. I've been hanging out for this. Will be curling up on the lounge and watching a few episodes tonight before bed.

    <lj:music>Maximillian Mouse - of all things!!</lj:music>

What a lovely start to the day. Didn't have to wait all day, and the kids were still in bed. Yay!!

The jacaranda's are in bloom. The world is purple!! And my head is getting sorer, my sinus's stuffier, and my throat fierier. Grr. At least the morning started well.

I stayed in bed after a muchly enjoyed tryst with the other half, and to wait for him to bring some codral cold tablets for my over-stuffed sinus's. And, of course, a cuppa tea, and some throat lollies. He dutifully made me comfortable, then went off to Super Cheap to buy bog and paint to fix his car. I stayed in bed until the tablets started working. I took Blade with me to the toy shop. I decided that, since I had some profits from Partylite, I was going to buy the boys some large trucks to play with in the back yard. Outside toys. Something to keep them off the computer, and away from the TV. They were very pleased, especially when I came home with a Hungry Jack's meal for lunch (Burger King in the U.S.).

After lunch I left the boys and their trucks with John. Matt, Alex and I left with Chantelle. We went to David's to pick up the commodore, since David's license in suspended, and he can't drive until he gets it back. Matt drove it home from there. Alex and I went from there to Loganlea to Monique's place to drop Chantelle home. She was her usual self - look at me, see how I've hurt myself, have pity on me - attention seeking cow. Anyway. Enough of that.

Got home and just went straight to my room to have some more tablets. My throat is so sore. Pam emailed me pics of dad. I just cried when I looked at them. It's the first good cry I've had since he died. I've been so angry with Roz that I haven't grieved. She may be my sister, but if I never see her again, it will be too soon.

I think I needed that cry. My head has been full of 'I Walk the Line' and 'Jake the Peg' and 'Maximillian Mouse' - some of dad's favourite songs. I like to think that's his way of telling me it's okay. I haven't even thought of them in years, but somehow, suddenly, there they are, swimming in my head, reminding me of the days we used to sit and listen to them with him. Also 'Ghost Riders in the Sky'.

John made roast pork for dinner. I think I will miss John's cooking when we finally break away and move into our own house, our own little family unit. I am looking forward to that though. I'm sick of feeling like I have two husbands!!!!

I read the boys some more of their story book. I'm reading Enid Blyton's 'The Enchanted Wood' - a favourite of mine as a child. I think it will be an early night for me. I'm really not feeling all that well.

Was up at a Sparrow's fart this morning - well, 6am anyway...
Lounged in bed for half an hour - I HATE getting out of bed. I hate it so much. Once I'm up I'm okay - it's just the becoming vertical part I have trouble with.

I had a cuppa and left for the Service Station. Got there about 7:30am. Did the usual opening of doors, turn on the petrol pumps, load the program, load the newspapers into received goods, etc.

What a boring day. Had about as many customers as I can count on two hands. Sat reading the magazines most of the time. Booked in a few cars for servicing next week. Andrew should think himself lucky that he has a friend to take care of his business for him out of the goodness of their heart. No, I'm not getting paid for ot. Nor do I take payment for keeping his paperwork sorted every month, or sending off the fuel subsidy for him.

Midday came. So I tallied the till, reconciled the day's takings. Pumps off. Locked up. La de da.
Left immediately for Kallangur to do the Partylite party. Sue's daughter Katrina was hosting it today. She's 13, and so in love with Partylite products.

She did really well. Got about $740 in sales - a fair amount of free product credit, and a nice little profit for me next week. Left there about 4pm. Picked up the kids from mum's, but had to stop and have another chat with her about all the same things we chatted about last night, and pretend she hadn't told me them. She needs to buy fish oil. Having the same conversations day after day is really pissing me off. I just want to go home and have sex.

Home about 6pm. Collapsed on my bed. Matt said he'd been cutting rust out of his truck today, and insisted I go and have a look at his handiwork. I want sex, so I'll humour him.

Dinner was spaghetti bolognese that Matt made. Storm takes forever to eat. Again tonight too, so he missed out on ice cream. River and Blade got some. I don't make empty threats...

Am so exhausted, after getting the kids off to bed, and the long day I've had. Bugger. Sex is postponed until tomorrow. He's promised me some intimacy before 3pm - given that we have to make sure the kids don't burst in on us at some point - as they have an uncanny knack of doing... Loses the flavour when we have to plan it. Hurry up next Sunday!!! My son David and his girlfriend, Missa, are childminding for the night for our 1st anniversary. He's been told I want dinner at the Pancake Manor, spontaneity, and car sex!!!!! At our age it will feel weird - LOL - but exciting!!

To top off the day, my head hurts. My sinus hurts. I hope I'm not coming down with something.

    <lj:music>I walk the Line (dad's favourite)</lj:music>

I've just cut and pasted from my diary. Not so great reading - but here's my day for you:

Friday, 6 October 2006 9:56:33 PM

Matt and John went to Suncorp to get Compulsory Third Party car insurance. When they came back, they left in John's car to go and get it registered. Matt said they took it to Rosalie, but ran into trouble when the girl said the numbers did not match. She said it had to be inspected and they have to take it to Spring Hill. In the meantime, they had the office staff running around printing out Acts of Parliament with legislation about Learner's and Provisional licenses and that they need to be held for 6 months before applying for the P, etc. When they finally understood the question - given that the legislation was about first time license holders - and John was NOT a first time holder - they gave them a form for exemption. Blah.

So, they went to Spring Hill, and the woman there said the only discrepancy was that Andrew's 5 looked like an S on the roadworthy certificate (chassis number). So as they were going down to inspect it, the fire alarm went off, the roller doors came down, and they were trapped inside the building for 15 minutes until the fire brigade came to check the situation. Why on earth would they trap you INSIDE with the fire? Luckily there was no fire, just a faulty pressure gauge in the sprinkler pipes. After all that, they finally registered the car.

When they got home, Matt packed up Alex and Chantelle, and they went to look for a car for him. He said they found one for $3300 drive away (after a barter) at Southside Cheapies at Rocklea - a 1991 Nissan Pintara hatchback - white 4 cylinder. I know nothing about them, but he seems happy, and Matt says it is dependent upon Andrew going over it on Monday or Tuesday.

In the meantime - I packed up the kids and went to the shop at 11am. I printed out colouring pictures for them, and sat them at a table and chairs in the back of the shop. They became bored as the day wore on. Andrew left at about 2:30pm to go to the airport. He's flying to Tasmania to cheer Emily on for her Hockey finals. Marion and the other kids had gone on Tuesday. The kids kept sliding along the floor and doing annoying kid things. They were black! You'd think that the grease and oil would not be so inground in the shop floor, as it is in the workshop floor. BUT! Even after Jillian had mopped the shop floor, it was still greasy and oily and black and yucky - even though it LOOKED clean. So. Kids one, kids clothes none. Eurk.

Tony tidied up the workshop floor, put the tools away, closed up the workshop. I tallied the till, turned off the petrol pumps, reconciled the days takings, and we chuffed off out of there at 6pm together. Tony gave me his and Astrid's phone number in case I need him for mechanical type stuff when I open the shop tomorrow morning. I ferried the kids to mum's via McDonalds. So glad was I to drop them off there for the night.

Mum was having a bit of a complain about the bullshit you have to go through when someone dies just to change joint stuff to single stuff. Dad still has to put in a final tax return - how can you do that when you've been burned down to a lump of coal and shoved in a container. Fingers for writing are a bit on the charred side. Idiotic bureaucratic bullshit. For goodness sake! The man's not 3 weeks dead and they pile crap up about how nothing can be done for 2 months until they clap eyes on a death certificate. Maybe we should have flung his ashes in their faces. Sticky tape some of that to the application as proof of his demise. (I loved my dad - I did - and I know he doesn't think badly of me for my little blunt outbursts - he was very much like that. My way of dealing with it, I guess. I can just see him now, complaining about paying for the half of the coffin that he wasn't using... {legs amputated}).

Anyway, I spun past Rhonda's place at Chermside with her Partylite order, and spent some time letting Gypsy be sick on the sidewalk - she'd been on her leash in the shop for most of the day so I guess the poor girl was a bit homesick too.

When I finally got home about 7:30pm, Peter and Rachael and their kids were over for dinner. John and Matt had made hamburgers. I scoffed down a burger, and had a chat with the guys before they left to go home to Helidon (near Toowoomba - about an hour's drive from our place).

I put my Partylite stuff in the car - I have a party to do tomorrow - directly after shutting up the shop at midday - at Kallangur. Easier if I just take it all with me and go from there since I'll already be on that side of town. I'll pick the kids up from mum's on my way back - since it's on the way. I think it will be a long day tomorrow.
